"Scenes Of Thailand" was a commissioned illustrated travel book project by Marshall Cavendish Editions which was created over the span of a year and mostly done on location. His love for all things Thai, ranging from the diverse culture and heritage to the delicacies and architecture, provided the artist Edric Hsu with endless inspiration for his sketches and paintings.
Edric’s work has garnered many positive responses and he is thrilled that this project has allowed him to learn and discover more about Thailand, one of the world’s favourite holiday destinations.
In the pipeline are plans to feature other parts of the world through his travel journals and sketches, starting with his home city: Singapore.
Edric Hsu is a freelance illustrator from Singapore whose style is informed by his background in architecture and design, and influenced by his love for travel, photography, food, books, theatre, music and art. He is also an accomplished singer and a familiar face in local films, TV commercials and stage productions. "Scenes of Thailand" is Edric's first solo book, and it reflects his penchant for travel sketching, as well as one of his favourite destinations, Thailand. He recently exhibited his unique series of "Parking Coupon Sketches", and hopes to get them compiled and published in the near future.
